Fall is my favorite time of year, and one of the best parts is visiting pumpkin patches! Even though my daughter is grown now, I still drag her to the pumpkin patch with me to pick out her pumpkin to carve, pose for pictures, and, of course, enjoy some kettle corn. There’s just something about the crisp air, the smell of fresh cider, and the sight of pumpkins that makes this season special. Whether you’re like me and love the tradition or you’re just looking for a fun weekend outing, the Puget Sound area has plenty of fantastic pumpkin patches to visit. I’ve divided them up by county, so you can easily find one near you. Check out all the details, including activities, dog-friendliness, and whether you need to make a reservation.

King County

Carpinito Brothers Pumpkin Patch

Address: 27508 W Valley Hwy N, Kent, WA 98032

What to Bring and How to Dress for a Day at the Pumpkin Patch

Now that you’ve picked the perfect pumpkin patch, here’s what you’ll want to wear and bring to make the most of your visit:

Dress for the weather:

As my mom always said “layers, layers, layers, in the PNW” especially in the fall weather can be unpredictable. A warm jacket and a hat are great options for chilly mornings.
Waterproof boots or shoes with good grip are a must, as pumpkin patches can get muddy!

What to bring:

A reusable tote or wagon for carrying your pumpkins. Many farms have wagons, but they go fast on busy days!
Snacks and water, especially if you’re visiting with kids. Some farms have food, but lines can get long.
If you’re bringing a dog, don’t forget water, a leash, and waste bags!
And last but certainly not least I also recommend a blanket or towel in the back of the car or trunk to place those muddy boots and dusty pumpkins on for the ride home.
