Your Guide to 4th of July Fireworks Around the Puget Sound

Fireworks over Lake Union Seattle 4th of July Bellevue Family Fourth fireworks show

Can you believe it’s already July?

Summer is in full swing here in the Pacific Northwest, and that means it’s time to break out the picnic blankets, pack some snacks, and get ready for one of our favorite traditions—4th of July fireworks!

Whether you’re looking for a big-city celebration or a laid-back local event, I’ve rounded up the best fireworks shows across the Puget Sound for 2026. These are perfect for families, couples, and anyone who loves a good sparkle in the sky.

🎆 Seattle – Seafair Summer Fourth

📍 Gas Works Park, Lake Union (+ Lake Union Park, south shore)

  • Saturday, July 4 · Gates open 3 PM, close 8 PM
  • Live music, food & drink, All-American games (sack race, pie-eating contest, tug-of-war)
  • 🚨 NEW for 2026: Free ticket required — must register online in advance
  • 🎆 Fireworks over Lake Union at 10:15 PM
  • 🚍 Parking is brutal — take transit, bike, or rideshare

The biggest 4th of July show in the PNW. Fireworks choreographed to live music over Lake Union — it’s spectacular. Important change for 2026: a free ticket is required to enter Gas Works Park, so register in advance at seafair.org. The show is also visible from South Lake Union and the Fremont waterfront if you miss the ticket window.

🎇 Bellevue – Bellevue Family 4th

📍 Bellevue Downtown Park

  • Saturday, July 4 · Activities from 5 PM
  • Live performances, food vendors, family entertainment & kids activities
  • 🎆 Fireworks at 10:05 PM, synchronized to a live performance by the Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra
  • Free · Parking at Bellevue Collection properties after 5 PM · No street parking (violators may be towed)

The Eastside’s largest 4th of July celebration, and it’s been running for over 30 years. The symphony-synchronized fireworks make this one feel genuinely elevated. Great option if you want to stay local and skip the Seattle traffic entirely.

🎇 Newcastle – Fireworks on the Lake (Lake Boren Park)

  • Thursday, July 2 · 6:00–10:30 PM
  • Food vendors & family activities from 6 PM
  • Live music by The Pioneer Squares at 8 PM
  • 🎆 Fireworks over Lake Boren at 10 PM
  • Free · Parking at Waterline Trail west of park (one-way)

This is one of my personal favorites to recommend — Newcastle does it right. A true community feel, a beautiful lake setting, and you beat the July 4th crowds entirely. Go on Thursday and have your weekend free.

🎇 Issaquah 4th of July — Three-Day Celebration (July 2–4)

📍 Downtown Issaquah, Front Street

  • Three days of events: July 2–4
  • Thursday: Chalk art festival
  • Friday: Wagon decorating contest
  • Saturday July 4: Kids & pets parade (10–11 AM, Front Street), magic show, Family Fun Zone, Farmers Market
  • 🎆 Fireworks over Lake Sammamish at 10 PM (July 4)
  • Free · Fundraiser for local food & clothing bank

Issaquah has expanded to a full three-day affair this year to honor America’s 250th. The kids & pets parade on Front Street is always a crowd-pleaser, and watching fireworks over Lake Sammamish never gets old.

🌊 Kent — Fourth of July Splash (Lake Meridian Park)

📍 Lake Meridian Park, Kent

  • Saturday, July 4 · 5:00–10:00 PM
  • Live music, food trucks, kids activities & a dip in the lake
  • 🎆 Fireworks at 10 PM over the lake
  • Free · Free shuttle from 3 PM

One of the more organized South King County options. The free shuttle means you don’t have to stress about parking, and Lake Meridian is a beautiful setting for an evening show.

🌊 Kenmore – Log Boom Park Fireworks

📍 Log Boom Park, 6100 NE 175th St, Kenmore

  • Saturday, July 4 · 7:30–10:30 PM
  • Music, food trucks, face painting, games & crafts from 7:30 PM
  • 🎆 Fireworks at 10 PM · 20-minute show
  • Free · Free shuttle from Kenmore Park & Ride (6 PM until end of event)
  • Accessible via Burke-Gilman Trail · No ADA parking onsite

🏞️ Snoqualmie – Red, White & Boom

📍 Snoqualmie Community Park

  • Saturday, July 4 · 7:00–10:30 PM
  • Vendors, food trucks, inflatables, field games & live music
  • 🎆 Fireworks at 9:45 PM
  • Free community event

Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy live music and food trucks before the sky lights up against the gorgeous Cascade backdrop. A beloved Snoqualmie Valley tradition that’s grown every year.

🌲 Tacoma — Summer Blast (Ruston Way Waterfront)

📍 Dune Peninsula & Cummings Park, Ruston Way

  • Saturday, July 4 · 12:00–10:30 PM
  • 150+ vendors, two music stages, Kids Zone with inflatables & bounce house
  • 🎆 20-minute fireworks show at 10 PM over Commencement Bay — Mt. Rainier backdrop
  • Free

Full-day adventure with waterfront views, vendors, and all the summer vibes — and fireworks with Mt. Rainier behind them is one of those only-in-the-PNW moments. Great for families who want an all-day outing.

🤖 New for 2026: Drone Shows

A growing number of local cities have switched from traditional fireworks to drone light shows — driven by wildfire risk and wildlife protection. If you haven’t seen one yet, they’re genuinely impressive.

  • Renton — Coulon Park (Renton River Days, July 25): Renton permanently retired traditional fireworks in favor of a drone show. The 2026 display is Friday July 25 at 9:30 PM as part of Renton River Days — not on July 4th. Free.
  • Des Moines — Des Moines Marina (July 4): Free community event 5 PM–11 PM with live music, food vendors & a drone show starting around 10 PM. Waterfront setting in south King County.

Quick Tips Before You Go

  • Skip driving to Gas Works Park entirely. Transit, bike, or rideshare only — parking genuinely doesn’t exist.
  • Register for Seafair in advance. A free ticket is required for Gas Works Park this year — new for 2026.
  • Consider the early shows. Newcastle (July 2) and Mountlake Terrace / Puyallup (July 3) let you celebrate without the July 4th crowds.
  • Check wildfire conditions. Outdoor fireworks shows (especially Carnation) may be canceled by the Fire Marshal if conditions are high risk. Always verify the day of.
  • Arrive early. For popular shows like Bellevue and Gas Works, arriving 1–2 hours early gets you a good spot and avoids the worst of the crowd.

Happy 250th, America 🎆

There is genuinely nothing like a summer evening in the Pacific Northwest — and the 4th of July here is something special. Whether you’re watching from a blanket at Lake Boren, catching the show over Lake Union, or bringing the kids to the Bellevue Family 4th, I hope you have an incredible celebration.

🏡 P.S. Looking to Relocate or Downsize in the PNW?

f you’re thinking about what it looks like to actually live in one of these communities — the kind of place where summer means Concerts on the Green on Tuesday, fireworks on the 4th, and River Days at the end of the month — I’d love to chat. That’s the kind of neighborhood life I help people find every day.
